THE PILLARS AT SAINT-PIERRE-APÔTRE

The plan of a pillar, and its underlying geometry, at Saint-Pierre-Apôtre in Montreal. This was one of Victor Bourgeau’s first churches, and his design shows a remarkable understanding for a man only in his early forties. It might have been attributed to one of the Europeans with whom he was working at the time, were similar exercises not found in many of his projects over the next 35 years.
